Celebration 200th Anniversary Elizabeth Prout

Happy Feast Day to you All.

Today we celebrate 200th Anniversary of the birth of Elizabeth Prout. We give thanks on this day for her spirit to continue to guide us and unite us. In an age where uncertainty and feeling of pandemic within a pandemic are strong, this celebration comes at a time where hope today feels almost tangible in the rejoicing for the gift of life - those present and gone before us.

Around the world we celebrate in so many different ways, as each community confronts the restrictions and limitations of where we find ourselves. For Australia / New Zealand we made a prayer liturgy and shared it in celebration. (I will share it below)

Vietnam having an in-house mass, Argentina coming together for Mass and prayer, Peru having a three day virtual gathering to share the life story of Elizabeth Prout. America have arranged a Mass with our Congregational Leader giving the homily. England going to the foundation of our congregation where the Bishop will lead Mass with most of our Sisters connecting online. The celebrations are far reaching, all in the expression of the cultures that we are present in yet united in the church prayer of Mass.

There is a sense of great joy and thanksgiving. So on this day I write to wish you too a happy feast day as you journey in the spirit of Elizabeth Prout through our connection. May she continue to shower upon you love and hope as we shine her light today as much as she did 200 years ago.

Here are a few of the prayer settings from around the world.
